Delegates

1 to 12 delegates you can attend an open training course.

We can open a private course or organise training on site for 4 to 12 delegates.

Manual Handling is the moving of any load by bodily force, including lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling or carrying.

All employees by law should be trained in the correct manual handling techniques in association with the product/equipment they will be using during the working day.

Course includes:

  • Health & Safety Laws & Regulations – Manual handling Operation Regulations 1992 (amended 2002)
  • The responsibilities of the employer and employee
  • What exactly is manual handling, and what types of injuries can occur
  • Good posture, biology of the back, combined with how you should look after it
  • Techniques for  lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling and carrying loads

  • Manual Handling risk factors and how injuries can occur
  • Mechanical Aids available on the market to assist with your manual handling assessments
  • The importance of issuing and using the correct PPE  for the task product and sequence of works
  • Importance of adhering to your existing company Manual Handling policy
  • Safe handling technique videos
  • Test paper/questions/ handouts & review

Essential for any staff who lift or move loads, we also advise that supervisors, managers and business owners attend to learn about mechanical aids, unsafe loads and safe working conditions. Also highly recommended for those who are involved in the purchase of manual handling aids and producing company policy.

Alan is our Senior Trainer and Technical Director.

He spent 30 years as a Health & Safety Director of a National Construction company, so he has the muddy boots experience, the qualifications, the stories as well as the likability and sense of humour so crucial to helping people understand the importance of Health & Safety in the workplace.
