Many people are unaware of what work spaces are classified as confined spaces and how hazardous they can be.

Apart from obvious industries such as water treatment works and mines, fatalities occur in the construction industry, manufacturing and even in a lady’s flat whose bathroom revamp ended in tragedy when she found a tradesperson had died when asphyxiated by paint fumes.

Over the years hundreds of people from many leading companies have trained here – helping them and their teams work safely.

Course highlights all the places and job tasks where there may be a specific hazard such as tanks, pits, wells, chambers, holes, tunnels, tanks and storage vessels.

Course includes:

  • An understanding of safe systems of work with particular reference to ‘permits to work’ where appropriate
  • How to conduct a risk assessment and advice on how to collate method statements that operatives can understand and easily follow
  • How emergencies can arise, the need to follow prepared emergency procedures and the dangers of not doing so
  • The importance of issuing and using the correct PPE and breathing apparatus and step by step guide of how to inspect it
  • Test paper / questions / handouts and review

This course does not include a practical element – the Medium Risk course does.

A greater understanding of the risks involved with confined space entry. Well presented and at a good pace with lots of opportunities to ask questions.

Rob was a very knowledgeable trainer and an excellent teacher, the knowledge I was given could one day save a life.

Made me more aware on work space and confined spaces. It was a really good day and I learnt alot from the trainer.
